Carolyn Caldwell – Certified Professional Organizer

Experience

Carolyn Caldwell has over 11 years experience as a professional organizer.  She is a Gold Leaf member of Professional Organizers in Canada (POC).  She established her professional organizing business, Altered Organization, following twenty years working in the healthcare industry.

Awards

In 2015 she was honoured to be recognized by her peers as a finalist in both POC’s Harold Taylor and Ambassador Awards and recipient of the revered Harold Taylor Award.

 Education

Carolyn was Canada’s first professional organizer to achieve both the Certified Professional Organizer in Chronic Disorganization (Institute for Challenging Disorganization, ICD) and Certified Professional Organizer (Board of Certified Professional Organizers) designations.  Carolyn is committed to continuing education and credentialing. She  has attained ICD Specialist Certificates in four areas: Chronic Disorganization, ADD, Aging and Hoarding.  Most recently, she is training as a life coach to support her work with clients and students.  Carolyn’s main interest as a professional organizer is working with clients with Chronic Disorganization including ADD/ADHD.

She offers a mentoring program to individuals entering the professional organizing industry.

Author

In addition to writing on both the Altered Organization and Caldwell Evolution blogs, Carolyn is the author of the soon to be published book The Clutter Letters.

Volunteer

Carolyn has served on the POC National Board of Directors, and is a Past Chair of the Toronto Chapter of POC.  She has also served as its Program Coordinator.  During the summer, Carolyn applies her organizing skills to support youth sailing.  For the past 5 years, she has organized a novice race course for children age 15 and under learning to race in the Optimist Dinghy.

The Rest of the Story

During the winter, Carolyn teaches skiing and is certified as a ski instructor and coach.  She claims to be best at teaching terrified woman and crying children to enjoy the sport of downhill skiing.     She is a mother of two active children.
